Windshield chip and crack repair in Tunis
A small chip can quickly turn into a crack. Repaired in time, it often avoids replacing the whole windshield.
When is a repair possible?
A repair is possible as long as the damage remains limited. These are the conditions we apply:
Star chip: up to 50 mm in diameter.
Crack: up to 10 cm long.
Timing: ideally repaired within a week of the impact.
After a week, dust and moisture get into the chip and the quality of the repair can no longer be guaranteed. If the damage is larger or has spread, the windshield will need to be replaced.
Why repair quickly
Temperature changes between day and night, air conditioning aimed at the glass, road vibration or a slammed door can turn a chip into a crack within days. Until you visit the workshop, avoid high-pressure washing, do not aim the air conditioning at the glass, and cover the chip with clear tape to keep dust out.
How we work at the workshop
- Inspection. We measure the chip or crack and check its position to confirm a repair is suitable.
- Cleaning. The chip is cleaned to remove glass fragments and moisture.
- Resin injection. A special resin is injected to fill the chip and stop it from spreading.
- Curing and finishing. The resin cures, then the surface is smoothed.
About the result
The repair strengthens the windshield and stops the chip from spreading. It does not always make the damage invisible: a slight mark may remain depending on the shape and age of the chip. We tell you before starting.
